How to Check Resident Card Status in Oman and Bahrain

In Oman and Bahrain, your resident identity card is linked to your work permit and residence. Here is where to check them through official channels.

Oman: resident card

• Resident cards are issued by the Royal Oman Police (ROP). Its website (rop.gov.om) and app offer e-services for residents, including checking visa and resident card details.
• Work permits (labour clearances) are handled by the Ministry of Labour (mol.gov.om).
• Your employer normally handles renewal. Keep track of the expiry date on your card.

Bahrain: CPR and work permit

• Your CPR (Central Population Register) card is issued by the Information & eGovernment Authority. Services are available on the national portal bahrain.bh.
• Work permits are managed by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) (lmra.gov.bh), which provides work permit inquiry services.
• Many services are also available through Bahrain's official government apps.

Tips

• Only use government websites (.gov.om, .gov.bh, bahrain.bh).
• Check your work permit status when changing jobs to make sure the old permit has been cancelled or transferred correctly.
• Keep digital copies of your resident card and passport.
